I am probably the only person in the Midwest who had never been to the Wisconsin Dells. My friends prepared me for the trip to the Dells by suggesting that it is very much like going to the state fair, except that the whole town is the fair. That assessment was spot on, though I would add that you can go a mile away from all the craziness to nearby woods and lakes for peace and quiet. 
I have waited all my life for a ride on a legendary Duck Boat, it was cool!
